Vancouver Short Film Festival Opens Submissions To All Canadian Filmmakers
I have been fortunate to attend this event many times over the years, I look forward to seeing it in person again...hopefully, we can all go next year!
Press release below:
Calling all Canadian Filmmakers! As of July 1st, 2021, the Vancouver Short Film Festival (VSFF) is accepting submissions of short films from filmmakers nation-wide. For the first time ever filmmakers from all over Canada will be eligible to screen their films at VSFF, starting with our 12th annual festival running from January 28th - 30th, 2022. We invite British Columbian and national talent to join our celebration of the best of Canadian short film.
At VSFF, elevating BC-made cinema and fostering the careers of BC filmmakers remains a key priority. We aim to build the film community by connecting emerging and established filmmakers from all over the province and are thrilled to expand that mission by connecting BC filmmakers with their counterparts from across the country to celebrate our successes together. Our goal is to further amplify, support, and strengthen our independent filmmaking community and its incredible talent from coast to coast.
Filmmakers can go to the VSFF Film Freeway For submission purposes, a film is considered Canadian if at least one key cast member or key crew member is a Canadian resident. See FilmFreeway for full submission guidelines: https://filmfreeway.com/vsff.
Submissions for VSFF 2022 will close on October 15th, 2021. Keep an eye on VSFF Social Media throughout our submissions season for news and promotions. Film submission guidelines are available at https://filmfreeway.com/vsff
Just to give you an idea of the films that were shown at last year's festival, of course, it was done remotely --here's the trailer.
I saw them all and they were all unique in their own way, some really good work in these shorts.
